The rooms are bare minimum, closet space beyond miniscule (I can barely hang a work suit in there), the treadmills in the fitness center are in serious need of upgrading as well, there are no amenities not even a bottle of water in the room, and the showers have hardly any water pressure. The hotel is definitely old and in need of renovations. I have been staying here for work travel because it's a convenient location to my meetings, but I will find another hotel in the area. This is my 3rd stay at the Marriott La Jolla. The server made the difference in us enjoying the diner eve. Players are right next to dining areas so its just part of the experience. So, If you eat here prepare for it to be pricey without the full restaurant experience. Food was a draw for the casinos to bring people in. Casinos traditionally have OFFERED great food and not too pricey. Unfortunately, inflation has hit this casino and they can not afford to serve great food at a moderate price. We used to come regularly to eat late night. They have Redecorated the patio area with alot of green. They used to have fire pits and big screens in the patio, no more. Last time I visited the same wings plate was actual a plate full of wings, now its 5 wings for $15. However, $30 for average piece of steak and french fries.whattt?.The wings are good and we would order every time we ate here. For a local South bay restaurant i have to rate a 3.5 stars.
